Costs and planning
Meditation retreat costs and planning facts
Last updated: November 2026Published by Andrew Keaveney
Meditation retreat costs depend mostly on length, room type and travel, and fees for Andrew Keaveney’s retreats are published by the Art of Living Retreat Center rather than on his website.
This page from First Retreat Guide, published by Andrew Keaveney, sets out what we can state plainly: what drives the price, where to find current fees, how far ahead to plan and who should choose a different kind of retreat.

How much do meditation retreats cost?
There is no single price: residential retreats usually combine a program fee with lodging and meals, so the total rises with each night and with private rooms. Andrew Keaveney’s site does not list prices for his programs.
For current fees on the Breathwork & Meditation Retreat (November 5 to 8, 2026) and the Happiness Retreat (November 11 to 13, 2026), check the program pages on the Art of Living Retreat Center website. We would rather send you to the real number than guess at one.
What raises or lowers the price
| Factor | Effect on total cost | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Length | More nights means more lodging and meals | Compare a 3-day and a 4-day program |
| Room type | Private rooms usually cost more than shared rooms | Room options on the program page |
| Travel | Flights or long drives add to the total | Distance to Boone, North Carolina |
| Timing | Holiday programs may be priced differently | The dates of the specific program |
| What is included | Meals and materials may or may not be bundled | The inclusions list for the program |
One-on-one sessions by donation
Andrew’s one-on-one offering is priced differently. The Intuitive Life Scan is a 15-minute session, online or in person, offered by donation. His site notes that spots are limited.
How far ahead to plan
Andrew’s next two programs are close together in November 2026: November 5 to 8 and November 11 to 13. If you are reading this after those dates, check the Retreat Center calendar for the next ones.
Leave time to read the program page, arrange time off and book travel to Boone. Residential programs have a fixed number of rooms, so the earlier you register, the more room choices you are likely to have.
Who should choose a different retreat
- You want a long silent retreat. A 10-day Vipassana retreat offers far more hours of silent sitting than Andrew’s three and four day programs.
- You cannot travel to North Carolina. A retreat near home will make more sense; see the best meditation retreats in the US list.
- You need a fixed price before you plan. Check the Retreat Center first, since prices are not on Andrew’s site.
- You want weekly live online breathwork classes. Andrew’s site does not list them.

Length, room type and location are the biggest factors at most retreat centers. A longer program means more nights of lodging and meals, private rooms usually cost more than shared ones, and travel to the venue adds to your total. Confirm each item on the specific program page before comparing two retreats side by side.

Shorter retreats usually cost less in total because they include fewer nights of lodging and meals, though the nightly rate can be similar. Andrew’s Happiness Retreat runs three days, November 11 to 13, and his Breathwork & Meditation Retreat runs four days, November 5 to 8. Prices for both are listed by the Retreat Center, not on his site.
